Upcoming Event on 12/2: Net Impact Social and Friday night speaker series

Join us for an evening of great conversation, local fare, and beverages this Friday, December 2, 2011 on the second floor of the Marlboro College Graduate School Campus.

We will kick off the evening at 5pm in Room 2 East with a presentation by guest speaker Jeremy Grantham.  Mr. Grantham is the founder and chief strategist of the asset-management firm GMO.  As of Dec. 2010, GMO had over US $107 billion in assets under management and is one of the largest managers of such funds in the world.

Mr. Grantham has become recognized as a leader in the financial industry.  He has built much of his company and personal reputation by correctly identifying speculative bubbles and steering clients away from the impending crashes.

More recently, Grantham has received both praise and pushback from his criticism of the various governmental responses to the global financial crisis.  He believes that failures in leadership contributed greatly to our current situation.  Here is a recent NY Times article about Mr. Grantham, his thoughts, and his work.

After Mr. Grantham’s presentation and an interactive Q & A with audience members, Net Impact Marlboro will be hosting a Social Hour from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Grad School Commons Area on the 1st floor.  Please join us as we continue the conversation and network with like-minded individuals.  Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided and a $5 donation will be suggested at the door for non-members.
