Join us on February 10 at Kipling’s Restaurant & Pub on Elliott Street (next to McNeil’s Brewery) for this month’s Green Drinks gathering. This month’s event is sponsored by ReNew Building Materials and Salvage, Inc. of Brattleboro. Nanci Bern, Manager & Job Skills and Education Program Director and Keith Fletcher, Co-Manager & Deconstruction will be the speakers representing ReNew Building Materials and Salvage.
ReNew Salvage is a non-profit building materials reuse store and deconstruction services provider. Their goal is to reduce the amount of construction waste, project surplus items, and usable items that end up in the landfill or disposed of improperly. ReNew’s mission is to contribute to and encourage the preservation and renewal of the Earth’s natural resources and to support low-income families to build, remodel and repair their homes. Check them out at http://www.renewsalvage.org/.
Green Drinks Brattleboro is an open-format, agenda-less, non-dues-paying, casual meet up for everyone from seasoned green industry professionals to the green curious. If you’re involved or interested in all things green, sustainable, or for the environment this is the place for you! Meetings are held monthly and rotate venues meeting on the Thursdays prior to the Marlboro College Graduate School’s MBA Sustainability Program’s intensive weekend. Meetings run between 5:00 and 8:00 pm with guest speakers typically starting around 6:00.
These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. It’s a force for the good and we’d like to help it spread to other cities. Contact your local node to get the latest info about coming along.
