The kick-off event for the Marlboro College Graduate School Net Impact Chapter will take place on February 11th, 2011, during a reception for Deborah Leipziger at 6:30 in the Chill Room, on the 2nd floor of the Graduate Center in downtown Brattleboro. Light food and beverages will be served.
Deborah Leipziger will review corporate responsibility (CR) trends, charting a course for how the concepts of CR and sustainability are evolving. Some of the topics to be covered include codes of conduct, sector initiatives, sustainable stock exchanges, and emerging language in sustainability. Ms. Leipziger is the author of The Corporate Responsibility Code Book andSA8000: The Definitive Guide to the New Social Standard, among other books and publications. Her books have been translated into Portuguese, Chinese, and Korean. She serves on the board of a number of organizations, including Aviva Investors’ Advisory Committee on Socially Responsible Investment, and is a Member of the International Board, Instituto Ethos, Brazil. Ms. Leipziger has worked in the field of corporate responsibility in the UK, the US, and the Netherlands, advising companies, governments and UN agencies on CR issues.
